Inspired by the soothing, poetic, mellow to my perfect point of soulfulness, Dwele!
A lamentation
A broken reflection
Of rhythms lost before creation
Semantics’ rebellion
Against the throes of a linguistic extermination
In the doldrums,
Discombobulated melodies
Throb in a dysfunctional, dull reverberation.
Ancient as the Mayas & Incas
Magical as the Naguals & Dalai Lama(s)
Deep as the ocean bed & the Earth’s molten core
A beautiful queen is slowly losing her soul
Losing her soul
Mama Poetry is slowly losing her soul
Dejected notes
Eve-tease myopic images
Illuminated thoughts
Doused by distorted syntheses
Literary works
Besiege plots and characters
In a run-of-the-mill realm,
Imagination implodes
Leaving a mental hollowness
Mama Poetry, calluses on her body
Mama Poetry, an epitome of melancholy
Mama Poetry, once bright eyelids now heavy
Mama Poetry, a fading symphony
Lifeless eyes
Deprived by the gluttony of mankind
Bleeding lips
Biting in the pain of children’s silenced cries
Withered hands
Mangled by the soiled handshakes of criminality
Charred flesh
Raped by the blackened beauty of humanity
I couldn’t help her
So I just wept and wept at her deathbed
As the weight of our world caved in on her chest
Kissed her heart
And willed it to palpitate
But ...
My poetic blues
Was the last melody she played!

I was curious about how your To-Do-List is doing, in particular, the point 8: Exercise more & stop harassing my siblings. Do your siblings have some peace from you now?
:D :D
Hey Nobody, thanks for asking.
lool, my siblings are all grown now. I can't harass them anymore:P
I am happy that they are evolving the way they are and are slowly carving their path.
As for the rest of my to-do-list, the only two things accomplished thus far: Exercising more and advancing in my poetry:)
How is life treating you?
Hmmm The way you describe it, you can't claim anything to your credit re the siblings thing. It's just that they grew up and got off your to-do-list. Exercising is much better. I am learning hooping right now myself. I don't mean child hula hoops. I mean professional ones. I only started. I hope at some point to get to something like this. The rest of my life is on the floor since a few years ago
:D :D
Haha, yes they have! Escaped my grasp j/k. I am proud of them.
Professional hooping looks hot, but I bet it needs a lot of work and practice.
Yep, hipster
I would not say that of late you have engaged in a very intensive blogging
Haha, thank you for occasionally checking up on me. My only guests these days are spammers:)
I have not written, not even engaged in my passion of poetry, in an exceedingly long time.
The great thing(Alhamdullilah-thank Allah) that has happened to me in 2009/2010 is getting engaged:)
Hope life is treating you well!
was checking ur blog.. love ur poetry.. keep it up:)
Many thanks:)
I- for one - miss your spirited musings
Heeeeeey, HH, I miss you and my spirited musings:P I have sadly renounced blogging (apparently) and haven't written a poem in more than a year (it sucks). The great thing is that I got married at the end of last year. So you can imagine how busy the pre-wedding phase had been and how beautifully pre-occupying (can I say that?)the post-wedding phase is. From politics and poetry to home decor and cooking, lol!
I would love to go back to writing but I have some rusty clogs to remove, hehe. How are you? How is life & the blogosphere treating you?
I am glad to have heard from you. I have learned a lot from you and I am sure there is still more to learn and embrace:)
